Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an experienced full stack Django developer to build and enhance scientific workflow applications. You will collaborate with lab scientists, design robust PostgreSQL schemas, and extend APIs while maintaining high code quality and CI/CD practices.

You should have 1+ years in Django-based web apps in biotech, active public Python contributions, and strong SQL skills. US work authorization required; on-site Colorado location with AWS/Kubernetes/Docker experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field required.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience building full stack Django apps in biotech or R&D.
  • Active GitHub with public Python contributions.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Django ORM/migrations.
  • Experience with Django REST Framework.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
  • Authorized to work in the United States full-time (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Summary

The ADMET Intelligence group is seeking an experienced full stack developer to support scientific workflow management applications.

What You Will Do
  • Work with laboratory scientists to develop new features and enhance workflow management (assay request handling, plate definitions, sample tracking, and results analysis)
  • Maintain and extend integrations with internal/external APIs
  • Design, implement, and test PostgreSQL database schema changes; write efficient queries
  • Write unit/integration tests and ensure code coverage
  • Apply best practices for code quality, documentation, CI/CD rigor, and architecture so research code is enterprise-ready
  • Bridge discovery teams and IT/Cloud organizations by converting scientific intent into engineering specifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related field + 1+ years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience building full stack Django applications in life sciences/biotech or similar R&D environment
  • Active GitHub profile with public Python contributions
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Django ORM, migrations, and model design
  • Experience with Django REST Framework
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Authorized to work in the United States full-time (no visa sponsorship)
Additional Skills/Preferences
  • Familiarity with ADME assays or compound management systems
  • Knowledge of cheminformatics or pharmaceutical research workflows
  • Strong SQL optimization and high-throughput schema design
  • AWS (Lambda, S3, Step Functions, DynamoDB) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in production
