Job Details

This is a senior, hands‑on embedded software role supporting autonomous, buoyancy‑driven ocean floats deployed permanently at sea. You'll split time between maintaining existing float control software and driving new R&D development, working directly with hardware on the bench to build, test, and refine bare‑metal C code running on ARM microcontrollers. Backfilling a recently departed senior engineer, this role also carries ownership of the decoder software that supports customer data delivery.

Experience needed

• Senior‑level experience writing embedded C for resource‑constrained, low‑memory systems
• Direct experience programming ARM microcontrollers
• Working knowledge of Linux‑based embedded systems (required)
• Bare‑metal/bootloader‑level development experience (no OS) strongly preferred
• Comfortable working at the software‑hardware boundary using schematics, datasheets, and lab equipment

Nice to have

• Background in marine robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other harsh‑environment engineering a plus
