Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Cloud Engineer for Outposts and Local Gateway traffic routing. You design, build, test, and operate scalable services, owning components end to end—from design to deployment and in-production health. Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for large systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered or distributed software applications and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate scalable, highly available services routing production traffic for AWS Outposts deployments worldwide.
• Own significant components end to end from design through deployment and operations.
• Drive ambiguous problems to well-reasoned technical designs with limited guidance.
• Write AI agents and automation to increase development and operational efficiency.
• Improve observability, deployment pipelines, and time-to-detect for owned systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead root-cause investigations.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code and maintain coding standards.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver cross-service features.
