Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for EC2 Networking (VPC Core) in Seattle to help re‑engineer a high‑performance virtual networking control plane. You will own major deliverables across scoping, design, implementation, and testing, driving features that impact millions of VPC configurations.

You will contribute to scalable cloud services, code reviews, testing, and on‑call support while mentoring teammates and shaping solutions aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years of design or architecture of systems.
Experience programming with at least one language.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud services powering AWS infrastructure.
Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to translate requirements.
Write high-quality, efficient code following architectural best practices.
Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and performance.
Troubleshoot complex issues across AWS services and implement tests.
Contribute to on-call rotations and mentor junior engineers.
Document system designs, APIs, and operational procedures.
Continuously evaluate performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
