Job summary

Millennium is a global investment firm seeking a Software Engineer for Digital Assets Trading in New York. You will partner with leadership to evaluate data providers, implement a strategic data roadmap, and ingest diverse data sources into trading platforms.

You will build scalable data pipelines, apply AI/ML across the SDLC, and ensure data quality and resiliency for analytics, trading, and risk tooling. A strong CS background and ownership mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Python experience for analytics and data processes.
• Experience with scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and Airflow.
• 2+ years deploying and managing AWS environments for data pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with large structured and unstructured datasets and data vendor connectivity.
• Understanding of financial instruments and digital assets.
• Experience with AI/ML across SDLC to improve data quality.
• Self-driven engineer comfortable under pressure and making design decisions.

Meet the Team

Information Technology is core to the health and growth of our business; the firm’s active, multi-manager business model demands flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including the development of the next generation of analytical and trading capabilities. Within the Digital Assets technology group, the platform team manages the full lifecycle of trading, data and analytics, reconciliation, and reporting platforms. The team analyzes structured and unstructured digital asset data across public and private markets, along with large fundamental blockchain and alternative data sets. Operating across on-prem and cloud-based environments and leveraging cloud-native services as required, the team works closely with other core engineering teams to incorporate data pipelines, data products, and research into the firm’s overall reference, market, and alternative data environment.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with the COO of Digital Assets, the Head of Technology, and Digital Assets Engineering Leads to evaluate data providers and implement the strategic roadmap for digital asset data.

• Analyze real‑time and historical digital asset data sources and integrate them into firm platforms.

• Build solutions that transform unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis and platform ingestion, with a strong emphasis on data quality and resiliency.

• Ongoing design and development of order management, trading, reconciliation and risk platform.

• Support business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands‑on Python experience writing reusable, efficient code for analytics and data processes. Ideally building scalable, reliable data pipelines with platforms such as Snowflake and Airflow.

• 2+ years of experience deploying and managing AWS environments for data pipelines and intelligence services.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Experience processing large structured and unstructured datasets with strong quality and resiliency controls, and managing connectivity to data vendors in this space for 24/7 systems.

• Broad understanding of financial instruments required, with equities, fixed income, or commodities exposure a plus, and a passion for digital assets/cryptocurrency backed by a strong understanding of primary markets and key sources of blockchain data.

• Demonstrated passion for AI/ML with hands‑on integration across the SDLC (feature engineering, model development/deployment, evaluation/monitoring) to enhance data quality, analytics, and automation.

• Positive, self‑driven, hands‑on engineer who is effective under pressure and makes sound design and architecture decisions.

Salary Range

Millennium offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
