Job summary

SPECTRAFORCE in San Diego, CA is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and test software for automated molecular diagnostic instruments. You will participate in sprint planning and drive software requirements and specifications.

This role emphasizes refactoring, unit and acceptance testing, root cause analysis, and thorough technical documentation in a structured development environment. 3-5 years of software development experience and strong problem-solving are preferred.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Experience in structured development environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
3-5 years of software development experience (nice to have).
Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test software for automated molecular diagnostic instruments.
Participate in sprint planning and software work breakdown activities.
Develop software requirements and specifications.
Enhance existing applications through refactoring.
Conduct unit and acceptance testing.
Perform root cause analysis and defect resolution.
Create and maintain technical documentation.
