Job summary

Open Staffing Foundation, in partnership with Internet Archive, is hiring a Software Engineer in San Francisco to advance Archiving & Data Services. You will lead projects across the full software development lifecycle, evolve architectures for reliability, and help migrate deployments to Kubernetes and ArgoCD while supporting production operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of DevOps/backend experience, proficiency in Python, Django, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and a track record of

Qualifications

Five+ years of experience as a Software Engineer focused on DevOps, operations, and backend engineering.
Experience with core technologies including Python, Django, Postgres, and Elasticsearch.

Responsibilities

Lead projects across the full software development lifecycle: plan, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions.
Evolve system architectures and services to support future requirements and reduce operational burden.
Plan and execute migration from Ansible-based VM deployments to Kubernetes and ArgoCD-based deployments.
Triaga, resolve, and address root causes of production issues.
Support leadership with project coordination and strategic planning.
