Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Software Engineer-Developer 3 for a 6-month contract at the Tinker AFB, OK area. The role requires ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and involves end-to-end software development for aerospace/defense applications.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain software across the lifecycle, mapping customer requirements to robust software architectures and implementations. Collaboration on agile teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering, CS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics) or equivalent.
• 5+ years professional software engineering experience in Ada, C++, C or C#.
• Experience with weapons software development such as MIL-STD-1760 or UAI is a plus.
• Embedded real-time software and hardware experience is preferred.
• Experience with RTOS, Agile development, and modern tools (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Git).
• Experience developing models and simulation is desirable.

Summary

• Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle.
• Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products.
• Develops, maintains, enhances, and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations.
• Develops, documents, and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software products.
• Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products.
• Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development.
• Develops, establishes, monitors, and improves software processes, tools, and key performance metrics.
• Supports software development on agile teams tasked with integrating and implementing solutions onto a platform.
• Develops high fidelity simulation and environment software and tool sets for rapid development, test, and deployment.
• Resolves problems for the company and suppliers using analytical problem-solving skills and applies engineering knowledge to continuously improve processes and tools.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical degree.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer developing using any of the following languages: Ada, C++, C, or C#.
• Experience with Weapons software development such as MIL-STD-1760 or UAI.
• Experience developing embedded real-time software and hardware.
• Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Experience with modern software development tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, or Git.
• Experience developing models and simulation.
