Job summary

Joyent is seeking a remote software engineering professional to design, operate, and improve highly available open‑source database platforms within a cloud and Kubernetes environment. The role combines database reliability, performance optimization, data protection, infrastructure automation, and collaboration with engineering teams across time zones, with participation in an on‑call rotation.

• Experience with Linux distributions such as Rocky Linux, CentOS, RHEL, or Ubuntu.
• Experience with configuration-management tools; Ansible preferred.
• Ability to analyze complex infrastructure and database problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication for distributed teams.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support and expand into Redis/FoundationDB.
• Basic project-management ability for organizing tasks and priorities.
