Job summary

Speechify is hiring for a Data-focused Software Engineer to drive data collection and support model training at petabyte scale. You will build and optimize ingestion pipelines, work with cloud infrastructure on GCP, and collaborate with scientists to improve data quality and cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, handling multiple tasks, and contributing to Speechify’s next-generation AI products for both consumer and enterprise users.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry software development experience.
• Proficiency with Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate with Scientists to optimize cost, throughput, and quality for our data at scale.
• Contribute to shaping the AI Team’s dataset roadmap for our products.
