Job summary

Together AI is seeking a Software Engineer for the Customer Insights team, open to full-stack or backend engineers aiming to grow into event-driven systems and analytics. You’ll contribute to the customer visibility layer of Together's Cloud, including historical analytics, activity history, audit logs, and investigation workflows.

Responsibilities include shipping features, collaborating with data and observability teams, and owning end-to-end pieces of work with a focus on robust backend code.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in distributed backend systems in production.
• Backend skills in TypeScript, Go, Python, Java, or C++.
• Eager to learn event-driven analytics and customer visibility.
• Developing data modeling instincts for schemas and queries.
• Writes clean, well-tested code and embraces code reviews.
• Able to own scoped work and surface blockers early.

Together.ai is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Customer Insights team — a great role for a full-stack or backend engineer who wants to grow into event-driven systems, analytics, and the customer visibility space. Customer Insights owns the customer-facing visibility layer of Together's Cloud: the historical analytics, activity history, audit logs, event timelines, notifications, and investigation workflows that help customers understand their activity and govern their AI workloads with confidence.

Every time a customer wants to know what happened, who acted, when it happened, and whether they need to act, they rely on the systems we build. Whether it's a developer checking their recent API activity, an enterprise team reviewing an audit trail, or an operator investigating an anomaly, we make that visibility clear and trustworthy — simple for everyday cases while providing robust, enterprise-grade capabilities for complex organizational needs. Our work turns today's fragmented visibility patterns into coherent product and platform foundations, and we're actively building toward the next generation of insight workflows that summarize activity, explain anomalies, and correlate events across surfaces for both human operators and autonomous agents.

You’ll own well defined pieces of work end-to-end, shipping work that lands in front of customers. You’ll get guidance as you take on unfamiliar problem spaces, with plenty of room to grow toward more autonomy over time. We pair, review each other's code, and learn in the open - it's a strong environment to level up in.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features for Together's Customer Insights platform, including customer-visible events, activity history, audit logs, timelines, notifications, and historical analytics and dashboards views.
• Partner with Data Platform and Observability engineering teams to leverage Together’s core data stack and capabilities to build out Customers Insights data collection and processing systems.
• Own well-defined pieces of work end-to-end, from implementation through testing and rollout
• Write and maintain critical-path backend and product code used by multiple teams and customer-facing surfaces.
• Surface blockers early and collaborate with the team to work through them
• Help maintain the freshness, completeness, and correctness checks that keep customer-facing visibility systems trustworthy

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, product platforms, or customer-facing backend systems in production environments.
• Good backend engineering skills in one or more of TypeScript, Go, Python, Java, C++, or similar production languages.
• Genuine enthusiasm to learn event-driven systems, analytics pipelines, and the customer visibility space - deep prior experience isn't required, and we'll support you in getting there
• Developing data modeling instincts - comfort working with schemas, queries, and relational and/or non-relational data
• Writes clean, well-organized, well-tested code, and treats code review as a way the team grows together
• Comfortable owning scoped work and surfacing blockers early
• Curious, open to feedback, and willing to propose new approaches and make mistakes

Nice to Have

• Interest in, or some exposure to, stream processing, data pipelines, notification systems, or analytical systems (this is a great team to learn them on)

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation, startup equity, health insurance and other competitive benefits. The US base salary range for this full-time position is: $150k - 200k + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by location, level and role. Individual compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
