First Citizens is seeking a Software Developer Consultant to design, develop, and support Salesforce and nCino solutions for our Consumer Lending Platform. The role blends hands-on development, technical consulting, and engineering enablement, contributing to DevOps improvements, integration design, and solution delivery across complex banking systems.

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): Arizona, North Carolina and Texas.

Join a team driving the evolution of a large-scale Consumer Lending Platform on Salesforce supporting critical business operations and enterprise integrations.

As a Software Developer Consultant, you will have the opportunity to influence solution design, improve engineering practices, modernize DevOps capabilities, and help shape the future direction of our Salesforce ecosystem. This role offers a unique blend of hands‑on development, technical consulting, integration design, and engineering enablement.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support solutions across Salesforce and nCino platforms.
• Partner with Product Owners, Technical Partners, Enterprise Architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in solution design discussions and apply industry-standard design patterns and best practices.

• Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and core banking applications/platforms and other systems using IICS, ESB's, MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, and modern integration patterns.
• Contribute to DevOps practices on GitLab, CI/CD improvements, deployment automation, and best practices.
• Perform code reviews and collaborate with the internal and external teams to drive excellence.
• Support production troubleshooting, release activities, and deployment efforts.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased developer productivity.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 8 years' experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 12 years' experience in Software application development and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years software development/application delivery.
• 5+ years of hands‑on Salesforce Development.
• 3+ years of hands‑on nCino Configurations.
• 3+ years working in Banking/Financial Services experience.
• 3+ years technical design and solutioning.
• Strong Experience in Salesforce Administration, Apex, LWC, Git, Salesforce Flow, Security Model, SFDX, Platform Events, API Integrations, REST/SOAP, Event-driven architecture concepts, Git, GitLab or Azure. DevOps, AutoRabit, IICS, CI/CD, Release Management, Agile delivery, SQL and Javascript.
• Comfortable across development, solution design, integrations, DevOps and production support.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented, adaptable, mentor‑minded, and focused on continuous improvement.
