Job summary

Cisco's Collaboration Devices group is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement software powering Cisco Phone and Room devices. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related software development experience or a Master's with 3+ years.
  • Experience with device-level C/C++ programming for performance-critical software.
  • Embedded systems or network device software development experience.
  • Scripting with Python or Java for automation and integration.
  • Experience building production-ready CI/CD pipelines and automation tests.

Your Impact

As a Software Engineer within Cisco's Collaboration Devices group, you will design and implement the cutting-edge software features that power the future of hybrid work - specifically Cisco Phone and Room devices. You will actively collaborate with senior technical leaders and cross-functional engineering teams to build robust, scalable solutions that enhance global communication. This role is exciting because it places you at the intersection of high-impact hardware and intuitive software, offering the opportunity to influence products used by millions of users daily.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related software development experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of related software development experience.
  • Experience working with performance-critical, device-level applications using C and C++ programming languages.
  • Experience in software development for embedded systems or network devices.
  • Experience using Python or Java for scripting and automation tasks, application development and integration within device software.
  • Experience with production ready CI/CD pipelines with experience managing and writing automation tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and command-line tools to support development workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new programming languages and technologies as required.

The starting salary range posted for this position is $128,600.00 to $184,900.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance.
