Job summary

Battelle is seeking a Software Engineer Co‑Op for Spring/Summer 2027 in Columbus, OH. This full‑time, onsite role supports cyber analytics and advanced microsystems research, with a focus on C++, Python, and embedded software.

You will work in Agile teams, contribute to data processing and circuit design analysis, and gain exposure to hardware testing in a collaborative, innovative environment. Housing stipend provided for relocating students.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral program in a relevant field.
At least one year of college coursework completed.
Experience with Python, C/C++/Java or MATLAB.
Interest in microcontrollers, IC design, RF or hardware testing.
U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

Developing and reviewing code within a large C++ codebase.
Building and debugging software applications for data processing and circuit design analysis.
Developing and testing Python code in support of fundamental research.
Building and debugging embedded software in an RF lab using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and test fixtures.
Working in a multi-disciplinary team using an Agile workflow.
Communicating work status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
