Job summary

Prophet Security is seeking a New Graduate Software Engineer to help build and evolve the core backend systems that power our security platform.

You will work closely with experienced engineers, product, ML, and cybersecurity experts on services that ingest, process, and reason over large security data sets, contributing to scalable integrations and high‑quality software from day one.

Qualifications

• Recently completed or pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Python or Go through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, testing, and system design.
• Demonstrated software-building experience through academic, internship, research, open-source, or personal projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-moving environment and learn quickly.
• Interest in building high-quality products and solving customer problems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to core backend systems powering Prophet’s platform.

What Our Platform Does

Our platform analyzes security alerts, develops and executes investigation plans, and produces detailed findings and actionable recommendations. Security analysts review these investigations and provide context and feedback, which are continuously incorporated into future automation.

The Impact You’ll Have

As a New Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll help build and evolve the core backend systems that power Prophet’s platform. Working alongside experienced engineers and experts in product, machine learning, and cybersecurity, you’ll contribute to services that ingest, process, and reason over large volumes of security data.

Example projects may include:

• Integrations at scale: Building extensible frameworks for integrations with third‑party security systems, including SIEMs, EDR/XDR platforms, identity providers, and cloud and SaaS logs.
• Proof‑of‑Value pipelines: Developing performant, reliable backends that enable fast customer onboarding and compelling proof‑of‑value experiences, from data ingestion to actionable insights.
• Security data platforms: Designing storage, indexing, and access patterns for highly dimensional, time‑oriented security data used in real‑time analysis and historical investigations.
• AI‑powered security workflows: Developing and evaluating agents and automation that help security teams investigate threats more quickly and effectively.

Qualifications

• Recently completed or currently completing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with one or more relevant programming languages, such as Python or Go, through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.
• Understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts, including data structures, algorithms, testing, and system design.
• Demonstrated experience building software through academic, internship, research, open‑source, or personal projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and learn in a fast‑moving environment.
• Passion for building high‑quality products and solving customer problems.
• Experience with backend services, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or machine learning is helpful but not required.
