Job summary

Ginkgo Bioworks Inc. is seeking talented Software Engineers for its Autonomous Lab software organization in Boston, MA. Candidates will be integral to building Catalyst, the software platform supporting the Autonomous Lab product.

Positions require in-office work from Tuesday to Thursday, with relocation assistance offered. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and should expect to scope and deliver features, write tests, and collaborate with the team. The annual salary ranges from $85,600 to $120,200.

Qualifications

• Some professional software development experience, including internships or academic research.
• Ability to reason about code across multiple files and components.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Scope and deliver well-defined features and components end-to-end.
• Write clean, maintainable code and apply coding principles.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.

Skills

Proficiency in Python

Strong communication skills

Familiarity with TypeScript & React

Experience with Git

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure

Education

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
