Flyby Robotics is seeking an Android engineer to help build Aviator, our ground control app, in Los Angeles. You will implement features in Kotlin, work with Kotlin Flow/Coroutines, and collaborate with backend services.
You’ll write tests with JUnit and Espresso, ensure robust logging, and help shape the app lifecycle and authentication. The role requires US citizenship or permanent residency and willingness to relocate to LA.
Flyby Robotics (https://www.flybyrobotics.com) builds drones with massively powerful GPU processing capabilities. Our team is crafting American-made drones that serve as programmable platforms for applications in machine learning, data capture, and AI-controlled operations. We envision a future where drones computing trillions of operations per second are deployed across the Western world with transformative impact across critical infrastructure, energy, frontier research, and national security. We are backed by top AI/hardware investors, including Neo, MaC Ventures, Naval Ravikant (AngelList founder), among others.
You’ll work with a team of engineers from Nvidia, US Navy NAVAIR, Sandia National Labs, and Yale to continue development of our ground control application, Aviator, that pilots use to fly our drones. As a core contributor to Aviator, you will work on features spanning user authentication, backend connectivity, and app lifecycle management.
