Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for the Starlink Supercomputer Network in Redmond, WA. You will help design, implement, and maintain the lean Linux-based OS powering our supercomputer network fabric and laser mesh of satellites.

You will collaborate with hardware teams to bring up OS on new hardware, develop high-performance device drivers, and improve observability and tooling for reliability. A BS or 2+ years of experience, with C/C++ system programming, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on system programming experience in C or C++.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the lean, high-reliability Linux-based operating system underpinning the supercomputer network fabric and Starlink laser mesh of satellites.
• Write (or rewrite) high-performance device drivers to extract maximum hardware capability.
• Manage deployment, operation, and debugging of the platform in production, including rigorous anomaly resolution and development of observability/configuration tools.
• Collaborate with hardware teams and external partners to design the next generation of hardware and bring up OS/software on it.
