Job summary

Cohere is seeking a hands-on engineer to join the North Data Abstractions & Tools team. You will build and maintain integrations for the North agent platform, design end-to-end pipelines, and enable other engineers to ship integrations quickly and safely.

You will also create evals and tests to ensure integrations perform as intended, tune tool descriptions for performance, and actively apply AI to improve reliability and scale. This role supports remote or office-based work worldwide.

Qualifications

• You have shipped production code and are comfortable building integrations against external APIs.
• Experience evaluating agentic systems or understanding evals and prompt engineering.
• Able to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong ownership: deliver quality work and ship with reliability.

Responsibilities

• Build new integrations (tools) on the North agent platform and maintain existing ones.
• Own the integration pipeline from design to shipping and ongoing maintenance.
• Help other engineers add integrations and raise the team's standards.
• Create evals and tests to ensure integrations work as expected and monitor regressions.
• Tune tool descriptions to improve performance based on feedback and evals.
• Use AI actively in your work while ensuring quality and reliability of what you ship.
