Job summary

Cohere is seeking a technical engineer for the North Data Abstractions & Tools team to lead integrations with external APIs and build the end-to-end integration pipeline. You will also design evals and tests to ensure reliability as the platform evolves, while applying prompt engineering and tool-description tuning.

Remote-friendly role with strong collaboration across global offices. You should be adept at shipping production code, owning features end-to-end, and helping fellow engineers

• Shipped production code and built integrations against external APIs.
• Familiarity with evaluating agentic systems or willingness to learn about evals and prompt engineering.
• Able to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities.
• Demonstrates high initiative and drives change without waiting for instructions.
• Has owned projects end-to-end and cares about quality of what ships.
• Enjoys helping other engineers succeed beyond their own work.

Responsibilities

• Build new integrations (tools) on the North agentic platform and maintain existing ones.
• Own the integration pipeline from design to shipping and ongoing maintenance.
• Assist other engineers in adding integrations and raise the team’s standards for implementation.
• Create evals and tests to ensure integrations work as expected and detect regressions.
• Tune tool descriptions to improve performance based on feedback and evals.
• Utilize AI in your work while ensuring the quality and reliability of what you ship.
