CAC I is seeking a Software Engineer to join a mission-driven engineering team supporting national security programs. You will build and enhance software powering complex systems, using Python and modern AI concepts, with a focus on performance and reliability. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and may lead project efforts as needed.

The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph, 3+ years SWE experience, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. On-site at Fort Meade, Maryland.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
• 3+ years of Software Engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Degree substitution: Four additional years of SWE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Translate user needs into software design and performance requirements
• Develop new features, improve capabilities, and enhance systems
• Debug defects to improve reliability and performance
• Integrate components into evolving systems and environments
• Create data queries and interfaces for databases and data repositories
• Design and implement efficient algorithms and scalable solutions
• Write and review technical documentation for software and systems
• Apply modern AI concepts and promote production-ready code
• Develop applications capable of supporting hundreds to thousands of users
