Job summary

Weeghman & Briggs, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Software Engineer 2 to support critical government initiatives in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and a full-time onsite commitment for enterprise IT and system architecture projects.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive SWE experience in government or DoD programs, strong Python skills, and a proven ability to work independently within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Experience supporting government or DoD programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 14+ years of SWE experience in similar scope/projects.
• 3+ years in AI/ML engineering, data science, or software eng in relevant environments.
• Experience capturing user workflows into process maps or executable logic.
• Experience designing or implementing LLM/agentic workflows including multi-step reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Support mission-critical programs in secure government environments.
• Design and implement LLM powered workflows and automation.
• Collaborate with operators, analysts, developers, and leadership to ensure integration with existing systems.
• Debug software and improve documentation and standards.
• Oversee software development teams and ensure project alignment with process constraints.
• Develop algorithms to meet system performance and functional standards.
• Assist with testing procedures for software components.
