Job summary

Vigy AI Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Agents to help build the core systems powering Vigy’s AI employees. You’ll work across a Rails backend, a real-time voice/video pipeline, and the integrations layer enabling agents to act on customer data in emails, calendars, CRMs, and more.

The role emphasizes shipping production AI systems with hands-on experience in LLM APIs and real-time tech. You’ll collaborate with founders on product direction and must be comfortable across the stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with Rails.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompting and tool calling.
• Comfort across backend, workers, and third-party API integrations.
• Interest in real-time systems is a plus.
• Product-minded with pragmatic engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows on top of OpenAI's API.
• Maintain Rails backend powering agent conversations and integrations.
• Improve real-time pipeline latency and reliability.
• Build and maintain tool integrations for real actions.
• Write and manage background jobs for long-running tasks.
• Debug production issues across LLM, backend, and real-time layers.
