Job summary

Motion Recruitment is assisting a well-known Financial Services company in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) with a Software Engineer contract role. This 9-month assignment focuses on building and maintaining APIs, Azure-based applications, and modernizing legacy systems within a large-scale enterprise.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong SQL Server skills, and hands-on .NET Core development, with proven API delivery and cloud deployment expertise on Microsoft

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, military, or education.
• Azure experience.
• C#, .NET, SQL, Visual Basic competencies.
• Development using Java and C#; API development experience.
• Microsoft SQL Server proficiency and query/stored procedure work.
• Experience with .NET Core development and API integrations.
• Azure-hosted app deployments and cloud-based release management.
• Knowledge of Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.

Responsibilities

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact for Software Engineering.
• Analyze and solve multi-faceted engineering challenges with depth.
• Support, maintain, and enhance a Legal Technology application for eDiscovery requests.
• Develop, update, and maintain APIs and application integrations.
• Write and execute database queries to support functionality and troubleshooting.
• Manage and support an Azure-hosted application environment and deployments.
• Monitor application health and implement performance improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to ensure stability.

What You Will Be Doing

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
• Support, maintain, and enhance a Legal Technology application supporting eDiscovery research requests
• Develop, update, and maintain APIs and application integrations
• Write and execute database queries to support application functionality and troubleshooting
• Create, modify, and maintain database objects, including stored procedures
• Manage and support an Azure-hosted application environment
• Deploy releases and application updates within Azure
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform, to make and manage application changes
• Monitor application health, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure application stability and performance
• Contribute to future modernization initiatives as the platform evolves
