Job summary

Captivation Software seeks a senior software engineer to lead the engineering, implementation, integration, and sustainment of the project Tool's Suite in a Linux environment. This role focuses on secure credential management, privileged access controls, secrets management, and automation aligned with mission security and compliance requirements.

The engineer will serve as SME for the tool's technologies on Linux, partnering with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Experience scripting with Bash and Python.
• Recent software development experience with Python and Java.
• Strong Linux administration background.
• Hands-on experience with Delinea products (Secret Server, Privilege Manager, etc.).
• Understanding IAM, PAM, certificate-based authentication, and security best practices.
• Troubleshooting system-level issues in distributed environments.
• Familiarity with API-based integrations, RESTful services, and secrets automation in CI/CD.
• Experience with IaC and automation tools like Ansible and SaltStack.
• Experience with Docker/Podman and secret-handling patterns.
• Sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level software engineer who shall be responsible for the engineering, implementation, integration, and sustainment of the project Tool's Suite in a Linux environment. This role ensures secure credential management, privileged access controls, secrets management, and automation capabilities that align with mission security and compliance requirements. The Software Engineer shall serve as the SME for the tool's technologies running on Linux systems and shall collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Suite of Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java
• Strong background in Linux administration such as RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu
• Hands-on experience implementing or supporting at least one Delinea product (e.g., Secret Server, Privilege Manager, DevOps Secrets Vault)
• Understanding of identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), certificate-based authentication, and security best practices
• Experience troubleshooting system-level issues in distributed environments, including logs, services, networking, and authentication
• Familiarity with API-based integrations, RESTful services, and secrets automation in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as Ansible and SaltStack
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and associated secret-handling patterns
• Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution

Desired Skills:

• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience supporting enterprise security tools or working in a cybersecurity-focused software engineering role
