Job summary

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who will design, develop, and maintain tools and services for our product suite (GitLab, Artifactory, MinIO, GitLab Runner, Jupyter, SPARTANDESK).

You will work with cross-functional teams—developers, sysadmins, PMs, and mission customers—to deliver integrated solutions that boost productivity and streamline workflows. U.S. citizen with TS/SCI security clearance required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years SWE experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years SWE experience
• 7+ years SWE experience in similar scope and complexity
• Experience with Linux CLI and Linux tools
• Experience writing Bash/Python/PHP scripts to automate tasks
• Extensive Java development experience
• Experience with CI/CD and GitLab
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with Git and source control

Responsibilities

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who shall be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tools and services in support of the project's suite of products such as GitLab, Artifactory, MinIO, GitLab Runner, Jupyter and SPARTANDESK (Linux virtual desktop). The Software Engineer shall work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers to deliver seamless integrations that enhance productivity and streamline workflows.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity


• Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools


• Experience writing Bash/Python/PHP scripts to automate administrative tasks and workflows


• Extensive software development experience with Java


• Experience using an integrated development environment such as the Atlassian plugin software developer kit (SDK)


• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible


• Experience creating documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes


• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI


• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker


• Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Desired Skills

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)


• Experience with sustaining mission applications deployed in a Linux environment


• Experience with interacting/training external customers

Benefits

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
