Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a senior software engineer who will design, develop, and maintain tools and services supporting Atlassian Jira and Confluence. Candidates must hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship, with strong experience in Linux, Python/Java, scripting, CI/CD, and containerization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 7+ years of SWE experience.
• Nine years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level software engineer who shall be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tools and services in support of the Atlassian’s suite of products including Jira and Confluence. The Software Engineer shall work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers to deliver seamless integrations that enhance productivity and streamline workflows.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience writing Bash/PHP scripts to automate administrative tasks and workflows
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java
• Experience using an integrated development environment such as the Atlassian plugin software developer kit (SDK)
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience creating documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes
• Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration

Desired Skills:

• Experience with sustaining mission applications deployed in a Linux environment
• Experience with interacting/training external customers
