Job summary

Captivation is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure reliability, performance and scalability of the infrastructure.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance and US citizenship, with advanced degrees and significant SWE experience across multiple stacks including Rust, Python, Linux tooling, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years SWE experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 7 years SWE experience.
• 9 years of SWE experience in programs/contracts of similar scope.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain a distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level software engineer who shall be part of a team responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a comprehensive distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
• Recent software development experience using Rust and Python
• Experience using Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
• Experience interfacing with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible
  
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills:

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience with Elasticsearch
