Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Software Engineer for a long-term contract in Irving, TX (Hybrid) with a leading Financial Services company.

You will contribute to cloud-native applications using Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, React.js, and Python scripting, leveraging GCP AI/ML services to deliver scalable solutions.

The 18-month contract offers involvement with Agile teams, emphasis on secure coding, and opportunities to optimize performance and design patterns.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on with at least one cloud platform, preferably GCP.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional distributed teams.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and secure coding practices.
• Awareness of Python for automation, scripting, data processing, or AI/ML initiatives.
• Experience with React.js and modern front-end frameworks.
• 2 years working with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native apps leveraging GCP services.

Responsibilities

• Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze basic or tactical software engineering assignments requiring research and evaluation of alternatives for low- to medium-risk deliverables.
• Present recommendations and exercise independent judgment while understanding function, policies, procedures, and compliance.
• Provide information to client personnel in Software Engineering.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform, preferably GCP
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional distributed teams.
