Geon Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer with 7-13 years of experience to join our defense-focused team in Maryland. The role emphasizes high-performance processing, open-sensor frameworks, and secure software design for government and industry applications.

Responsibilities include architecting, developing, and deploying advanced SDR solutions; collaborating on containerized architectures, APIs (gRPC/REST), and GitOps workflows, all while maintaining active security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Container and Container Orchestration experience (preferred).
• High-speed networking and network protocol experience (preferred).
• Python (preferred).
• GitOps - agile Dev(Sec)Ops using Gitlab experience (preferred).
• API development experience such as gRPC, CORBA, REST, etc (preferred).
• Active Security Clearance Required.

About the Job:

About the work:

In May of 2019, Amazon opened its first AWS Ground Station, a "virtualized segment for ground processing" of satellite signals that support 54 MHz uplink and 500 MHz downlink processing using the proven AWS Cloud Services and technologies. Microsoft Orbital and Google were close behind with their own satellite processing architectures based on cloud services and technologies. At the same time, technologies supporting next-generation 5G exploded into the same cloud technology arena. Geon has been awarded a prime contract to leverage these very same technologies to build next-generation Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions for the defense and intelligence industry. Geon Technologies provides wage ranges in accordance with the Maryland Wage Range Transparency law. Paywithin the range will be decided by the company in its sole discretion and will be based on several factors including but not limited to experience and/or other qualifications. The projected pay range for this position is $155,000- $185,000.
