Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with expertise in backend development and network engineering. The position is remote within the US.

Requirements for the Software Engineer include:

• Understanding backend development for network services and orchestrating the construction of service fabric systems.
• Creating Python scripts to automate network services using open-source frameworks.
• Building telemetry systems utilizing custom code and third-party tools.
• Overseeing on-premises Linux servers that provide virtual computing and networking services.
• Handling cloud infrastructure and services supporting CI/CD, monitoring, and backups.

Qualifications for the Software Engineer include:

• 3–5 years of experience in development within datacenter environments.
• Advanced understanding of Python.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Previous experience working with Linux servers and administration.
• Familiarity with software development tools like Git and Jenkins.
• Cloud experience preferred, especially within virtual networking.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Compensation for the Software Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $80,000 – $100,000.
