Job summary

Rocket Mortgage is seeking a Software Engineer to join an AI-native engineering environment, delivering real products and owning increasingly complex technical tasks. You will use AI tools daily, contribute to code design and reviews, and mentor junior teammates.

You will work with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular, and AWS in a collaborative Agile setting, shipping reliable software and supporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop software using established patterns and practices.
• Experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular or AWS.
• Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Experience creating reusable software modules/patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Agile development practices.

As a Software Engineer, you are a reliable developer, well-versed in the patterns and practices of your languages and tools. You contribute to the team's consistent delivery of iterative value to their clients. You also provide direction on less complicated tasks to peers.

This is a role for someone eager to ship real products and build in an AI-native engineering environment. You will use AI as a core part of how you design, code, test, and debug software, and you'll be supported with mentorship, code review, and clear guidance as you take on increasing ownership.

Minimum Qualifications

• Expertise solving problems by developing software using established patterns and practices
• Experience with the programming languages, frameworks and platforms used by the team, such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Angular or AWS
• Experience using AI code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
• Exposure to developing software modules or patterns for reuse
• Experience conducting integration tests, assisting with software releases, and providing ongoing support
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices and artifacts, such as user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 3 years of experience in a professional software engineering or similar role
• Experience developing software modules or patterns used within the team
• Experience developing for a cloud environment or cloud provider certification
• Experience supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Agile certification
• Experience mentoring and developing others
• Experience providing thought leadership to influence software development practices

On-Call Expectations

This role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability. On-call responsibilities may include coverage during nights and weekends. If applicable, frequency and scheduling will be determined by team needs and communicated accordingly.
