Pomelo AI seeks an experienced Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software for real-world products. This hands-on role covers architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment across the full lifecycle.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality features, write clean code, and contribute to documentation. The position is remote, with US-time-zone hours and global exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or C#.
• Experience building web apps, backend services, or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OO programming.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) familiarity.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Able to write clean, well-documented code and work independently or in a team.
• Ability to work in a US time zone, Monday to Friday (8 hours per day).

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software applications for real-world products. The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and is passionate about building high-quality, production-ready systems. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality features
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices
• Build and integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and reliability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and architecture decisions
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Stay up to date with modern software development tools, frameworks, and best practices

• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or C#

• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
• Ability to work in a US time zone, Monday to Friday (8 hours per day)
