As a software engineer at GitHub, you will enhance the collaboration experience by working closely with a community of engineers and designers in a distributed, diverse, and passionate team. You will design, prototype, implement, ship, and support highly performant user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable solutions across GitHub services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews to foster team growth.
• Ensure system health and quality, including participating in on-call rotations.
• Write architecture briefs, create prototypes, and conduct experiments to achieve planetary-scale systems.
• Design and implement APIs for seamless software integration.
• Utilize CI/CD tools to automate pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.
• Develop maintainable code and be familiar with the systems you build.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields, with proven experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• OR an Associate’s Degree with 1+ year of experience.
• OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Experience with Azure technologies, front-end frameworks like React.js, and understanding of REST APIs.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with machine learning models or AI applications, proficiency with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn, and understanding of data science principles.

Compensation Range

The salary range is USD $81,000 to USD $214,900 per year, depending on experience, location, and role impact. Benefits include potential bonuses, stock options, and sales incentives where applicable.
