Absolute Business Solutions Corp ABSC is seeking a TSSCI-cleared Software Engineer to design and maintain Python microservices interfacing with Kafka and Elasticsearch, deployed in Kubernetes, at a client site in Bethesda, MD with some remote flexibility.

You will collaborate with systems engineers and cross-functional teams on backend tasks, data-centric cloud architectures, and observable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 4–8 years of relevant experience or Master's with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain polygraph.
• Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask).
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with ETL processes and Linux scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices.
• Implement Kafka producers/consumers for real-time messaging.
• Integrate with Elasticsearch for real-time and batch indexing and querying.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy in Kubernetes clusters.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems with observability tools.

Responsibilities

Design develop test and maintain Python microservicesImplement message consumers and producers with Apache KafkaIntegrate with Elasticsearch for real time and batch data indexing and queryingWrite unit and integration tests; ensure high code coverage and reliabilityBuild CICD pipelines for your services and deploy them in Kubernetes clustersParticipate in design discussions code reviews and architecture planningMonitor and troubleshoot production issues with observability toolsContribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the teamUtilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development integration and production environmentFoster an environment of collaboration with the different team members in the goal of providing quality service and product to our customers

Requirements

Bachelors Degree and 4 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 6 years of prior relevant experienceMust possess an Active Top SecretSCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a PolygraphProficiency in Python and related backend frameworks eg FastAPI FlaskExperience with containerization especially with DockerExperience in Extraction Transformation and Load ETLHands on development experience in a Linux environment including bash or bash like scriptingStrong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architectureHands on experience with Kubernetes deploying monitoring and debugging servicesUnderstanding of common design patterns security practices and loggingmonitoring principlesFamiliarity with Git and collaborative workflows PRs reviewsExperience with DevOps practices and tools including Continuous IntegrationContinuous Delivery CICD tools and practices especially Gitlab or JenkinsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience with AGILE practicesEnthusiastic with the ability to work well in a team and a self starter who can work on their own

Salary is commensurate with education and years experience Salary range for this requisition is 120000 235k annual
