Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) is recruiting a Database Administrator to support the DOMEX Technology Platform on a DoD/IC mission. On-site in Bethesda, MD with a flexible schedule and occasional remote work.

The role requires strong database design, security controls, and CI/CD experience in a fast-paced Agile environment. Qualified candidates hold a DoD TS/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility, plus 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s with 6 years.

Qualifications

• Experience with database systems (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and SQL scripting.
• DoD TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain with polygraph.
• Hands-on database design, schema and data model experience; performance tuning.
• Experience in on-premises and cloud database management and monitoring.
• Familiarity with security controls, vulnerabilities POAMs, and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to develop ETL data solutions for OSINT data.
• Administer and optimize databases; address technical debt.
• Design schemas, data models, and data exports/imports.
• Define APIs, manage data interactions, and ensure data consistency.

ABSC has an exciting opening for you, our next Database Administrator to play a critical role on the DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) Program where we support our client's mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the DoD and IC enterprise. We integrate off the shelf and newly development software to sustain and enhance the TCPED platform. We leverage cloud-based computing, artificial intelligence (Al), machine learning (ML) and cross-domain transfer systems to provide cutting edge data exploitation, enrichment, triage, and analytics capabilities to Defense and Intelligence Community members. DTP advances the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles. While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely.

Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and possess a solid understanding of the software development life cycle all while working within an Agile framework.

Security clearance required for this role: An Active TS/SCI with ability/willingness to obtain a CI polygraph is required.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate and work with a diverse group of engineers in developing solutions for extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) heterogeneous datasets
• Administer, maintain, upgrade, and optimize databases to address technical debt
• Design, maintain, and improve database schemas and data models
• Participate in engineering design sessions to understand dependencies and interactions with POSTMAN data stores
• Document database design, implementation and interactions with other systems
• Define formats and structure for data exports/imports
• Define APIs to share data; identifying endpoints, authentication, authorization, segmentation, structure, and format
• Manage multiple database instances and interactions to insure data consistency across the POSTMAN platform
• Support CI/CD automation, code promotion, and deployment operations
• Participate in daily scrums and program increment planning sessions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
• Possess a DoD TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA); must have Security+ and cloud certifications to quality for access
• 3+ year administering databases including but not limited to: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
• 3+ years of database scripting using interface tools that include command line interfaces
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing database schema, data models (Relational, Entity-Relationship, Object-based, etc.) and performance tuning
• Experience with administrating databases both on-premises and on the cloud platforms
• Experience with monitoring database health and developing solutions to mitigate risks of performance and Service-level Agreements (SLAs)
• Experience working with a highly technical team and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Experience segregating data access through record locking or other solutions
• Experience documenting and implementing security controls; providing POAMs for vulnerabilities and security findings
• Experience managing multiple data connections and interfaces

• Experience with other database systems (Relational / Graph / NoSQL) and data models
• Experience with Python, JSON, or Java
• Experience with Intelligence Community data products
• AWS Cloud Associate Certifications in at least one of the following: Developer; Data Engineer, CloudOps Engineer, Solutions Architect

Salary is commensurate with education and years’ experience. Salary range for this requisition is: $125,000-$235k annual.
