Job description

Noblis is seeking Software Engineers to assist National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Airspace Operations (AO) efforts. The work will support the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Campaign. The candidate will provide full software development lifecycle services spanning the design, development, test, and deployment of innovative software solutions with a strong emphasis on user experience, human factors, and software quality to enhance FAA operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop principles to adapt to user requirements and improve the software based on user feedback.
  2. Manage and track software development tasks through regular team tagups and with the JIRA tracking tool.
  3. Log new features and bug fixes as JIRA issues for resolution by the software team.
  4. Audit the JIRA issues to ensure that proper levels of details are included for use in documentation such as software release notes and for the testers of the software.
  5. Perform testing, integration and deployment tasks for collaboration demonstrations.
  6. Summarize data collection from demonstration.
  7. Create or update scripts to set up the automated software builds for the collaboration demonstration system.

Required Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including strategic planning, innovative concepts, thought leadership, and team management.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline.
  3. Eligibility to obtain NASA Suitability.
  4. Experience with general NoSQL databases, specifically design and development of knowledge graph software systems dealing with structured and unstructured data.
  5. Experience with general software development for cloud computing services and micro-services architecture.
  6. Knowledge of NASA/FAA airspace systems, ideally existing UTM data models.
  7. Experience with design and implementation (including build, test, release, deploy and configuration) activities of related applications.
  8. Proficiency in DevOps discipline and processes supporting Continuous Delivery Tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, CloudFormation.
  9. Expertise in Docker container technology and associated functionality.
  10. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US government clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. NASA experience.
  2. Active NASA Suitability is preferred.
  3. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline.

Posted Salary Range:

USD $77,000.00 - USD $120,275.00 /Yr.
