Description: SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to support advanced Very Low Frequency (VLF) communication systems. This is an onsite role in San Diego, CA, requiring local candidates. The candidate should have a strong background in system software engineering support, preferably with DoD development programs, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Qualified candidates will have in-depth experience and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Job Duties:

1. Development and updates of RF communications systems.
2. Supporting VLF communications for Navy and Air Force.
3. Experience with testing, configuration, and documentation of software and hardware systems.
4. Collaborate with software developers to develop and implement test procedures.
5. Resolve technical issues during system integration, implementation, and testing.
6. Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced staff.
7. Interface regularly with management, customers, and team members.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or mathematics with at least 2 years of experience in C, C++, and Java programming.
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
3. Must have an active Secret clearance to start and be able to obtain Top Secret clearance.
4. Must be DoD IAT 1 certified eligible for Security+ (able to obtain within 6 months).
5. Strong skills in establishing equipment configurations to meet operational requirements.
6. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.

Desired Skills:

1. Experience with FPGA.
2. Background in RF Engineering, especially in VLF systems.
3. Familiarity with waveform development and DoD communications systems.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no deadline.
