Software Engineer

We need a Software Engineer who does it all. Your ability to dissect complex problems, modernize legacy systems, and write code that not only runs but is tested, deployed, and monitored will make us excited to hire you.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable code that supports CMS as it merges systems into one AI‑driven platform, reducing manual effort and improving data accuracy.
• Own CI/CD pipelines end to end, automating build, test, and deployment workflows with tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Build and maintain automated test suites—unit, integration, regression—integrated as quality gates and provide real test‑coverage analysis.
• Containerize and ship workloads using Docker and related tools for repeatable, scalable environments.
• Investigate and debug test failures throughout the lifecycle, update tests or file bugs as needed, and keep the build green.
• Integrate code‑quality checks and security gates (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk) into the pipeline to catch problems before shipping.
• Collaborate with human‑centered design experts to build intuitive, responsive, personalized solutions.
• Develop and tune backend components to improve responsiveness and overall performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands‑on software engineering experience, strong coding chops in Python.
• Real DevOps / DevSecOps / DevTestOps experience—proven automation of build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Proficient in test automation and integration of tests into pipelines with quality and security gates.
• Experience building scalable, maintainable pipelines integrated with testing frameworks.
• Containerization experience (Docker or Kubernetes) and familiarity with REST APIs.
• Fluency in agile practices (Scrum, Lean, or SAFe).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑stakeholder collaboration.

Additional Skills

• Experience with AI, NLP, LLMs, or ML‑driven applications.
• Previous support for CMS or another federal agency.
• Bonus: experience with FISMA boundaries or ATO/cATO efforts.
