Job summary

SendCutSend in Reno, NV is seeking a Software Engineer to help build intuitive tools that turn designs into manufactured parts with minimal CAD complexity.

You'll design, develop, test, and deploy features, collaborate across Product, Production, Design, and Support, and optimize performance while shipping reliable software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
2+ years of experience shipping production software.
Experience with modern web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Python/Django.
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or React.
Experience building web applications end to end.
Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling.
Ability to write well-tested, maintainable code.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software features with a focus on rapid execution and quality in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate project status and roadblocks clearly to leadership and team members.
Contribute to improving the customer experience across the design-to-production workflow.
Build and maintain tools that validate and improve customer CAD files.
Improve internal processes and automation to support order volume growth.
Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
Optimize database queries and application performance.
Collaborate with Product, Production, Design, and Support to deliver improvements.

As a Software Engineer, you are a hands-on builder who helps improve our platform. Your work focuses on creating intuitive tools that allow customers to turn their designs into manufactured parts without the complexity of traditional CAD and fabrication workflows. You collaborate closely with Product, Production, Design, and Support to translate requirements into reliable, high-quality software. You contribute to shipping features, improving systems, and solving practical problems that directly impact our customers and internal operations.

What you’ll do

Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software features with a focus on rapid execution and quality in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Communicate project status, progress, and roadblocks clearly and consistently to leadership and team members, proactively identifying when support or additional resources are needed to ensure timely and successful completion
Contribute to improving the customer experience across the design-to-production workflow
Build and maintain tools that validate and improve customer CAD files
Improve internal processes and automation to support order volume growth
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with engineers to improve system quality
Optimize database queries and application performance
Work cross-functionally with Product, Production, Design, and Support to deliver meaningful improvements
Continuously learn and improve technical skills

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
2+ years of experience shipping production software
Experience working with modern web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Python/Django
Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue or React
Experience building web applications end to end
Familiarity with relational databases and basic data modeling
Ability to write well-tested, maintainable code
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Tell us an interesting animal fact in your application.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Ruby on Rails
Experience working with Vue or similar front-end frameworks

Essential Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment
Ability to move throughout an office and manufacturing environment as needed

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that requires consistent communication, organization, and coordination across cross-functional teams.
The position may require time spent in or around a manufacturing facility with exposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, and industrial conditions.
