Job summary

Coinbase in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Software Engineer on the EAA Compliance CXAE team to own end-to-end features for the compliance agent platform using Golang, React, and cloud tech. You'll work with product, design, security, and data teams to deliver cross-functional solutions, build scalable services on AWS/Kubernetes, and mentor peers to raise quality.

This role requires based in Charlotte and is not fully remote; base salary ranges from $152,405 to $179,300 USD with equity and bonus

Qualifications

Software Engineer - Compliance CXAE (Charlotte, NC)

As a Software Engineer on the EAA Compliance CXAE team within the Platform group, you'll build the AI-first applications and services that power how CX Compliance agents work every day. This team is responsible for the platforms, tools, and integrations that streamline compliance processes, helping agents resolve customer issues and KYC workflows faster, with greater accuracy, and at scale. You'll own full-stack feature delivery across Golang and React, ship third-party integrations, and directly improve the productivity and compliance experience for millions of Coinbase customers.

This role requires you to be based in Charlotte, NC and is not eligible for fully remote work.

What you'll do:

• Own end-to-end development of user-facing features across the compliance agent platform using Golang, React, and cloud technologies, from design through production deployment.
• Lead assessment, selection, and implementation of third-party tools and vendor integrations that extend platform capabilities and accelerate delivery.
• Partner with product, design, security, and data teams to deliver cross-functional solutions to complex compliance and CX problems.
• Build and maintain scalable, high-traffic services leveraging event-driven architectures, caching, load balancing, and observability tooling across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Mentor engineers on design patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and deployment best practices to raise the overall quality bar for the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building web applications with at least one modern backend language (Golang, Python, Java, or similar) and a frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized deployment environments (Kubernetes, Docker, or similar).
• Experience working with distributed systems concepts such as caching, event-driven architectures, or API integrations.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences through documentation, design proposals, or code reviews.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
