Shamrock Trading Corporation in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will participate in development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, collaborating with partners to identify requirements and options.

Qualifications

• Significant full-stack development experience, ideally with team leadership.
• Strong database implementation skills (SQL and NoSQL).
• Deep background in TypeScript.
• Proficient in JavaScript, React and React Native.
• Experience with microservices and containerization.
• Hands-on AWS cloud-native implementations.
• Experience building APIs and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GC).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and Agile experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software applications
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, designers, QAs, and SREs
• Debug and resolve technical issues across the software stack
• Perform code reviews
• Develop and execute unit tests to ensure software quality
• Create and maintain documentation for code, systems, and processes
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives
• Work closely with QA to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Adhere to secure coding practices and data protection standards
• Support production systems and participate in on-call rotations as needed

Software Engineer will be responsible for participating in development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. Participate in project teams within assigned business units or corporate departments and utilize various technology platforms. Collaborate with business partners, and other technical staff to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options.

What You’ll Bring

• Deep background in Typescript
• Experienced working with cloud‑native implementation strategies, ideally in AWS (Lambda, SQS, etc)
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React, React Native, microservices architecture, and containerization. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Expertise building and working with APIs
• Expertise building high‑volume transactional processing and cloud first/native distributed systems
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on strategic thinking and innovative solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong understanding and experience with Agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban
• Strong experience building exception‑based operational workflow automation, alerting, and frontend tools
