The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and deploying operational technology software applications within the manufacturing environment. Working collaboratively in a team-based setting, this role involves engaging with customers to gather business requirements and translating them into scoped, budgeted, and scheduled solutions that meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions for equipment integration in manufacturing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for successful integration of manufacturing equipment into factory systems.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and efficiency of integrated systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance related to equipment integration and operational technology applications.
- Document software configurations, integration procedures, and development processes to support long-term maintenance and scalability.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with data historians, preferably AVEVA PI.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps.
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and tools.
- Knowledge of relational databases and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Awareness of industrial automation concepts, including the ISA-95 standard and related systems (PLC, OPC, SCADA, MES, ERP, Historian, CMMS).
- Familiarity with message bus architectures and related technologies.
- Experience in the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field required.
Experience
0–3 years of relevant experience in software engineering or related technical field.
Entry-level candidates with strong foundational knowledge and willingness to learn will be considered; training will be provided for specific tools and systems.
