Job description

Software Engineer - AI Platform for Hedge Funds & Asset Managers

Midtown East, NYC

The Company:

We are partnering with an AI platform built specifically for hedge funds and asset managers.

The platform helps investment teams bring together research, data and internal workflows in one place, using AI to automate repetitive processes, surface relevant information faster and support more efficient investment research and decision-making.

The company is bootstrapped, client-funded and cash-flow positive, with more than $10M in ARR and a team of approximately 25 people. The engineering culture combines the speed and ownership of a SaaS startup with a highly technical R&D environment.

The team brings experience from some of the most demanding institutions in finance and technology, including Citadel, Goldman Sachs, Millennium, D.E. Shaw, Two Sigma and Bridgewater, alongside leading data and AI startups.

The Role:

We are looking for a strong Software Engineer with full-stack capability.

You will work across backend systems, frontend applications, data infrastructure and AI tooling, building products used directly by investment teams at hedge funds and asset managers.

There is a significant amount of 0-1 engineering. You will take ownership of problems from first principles, collaborate closely with users and turn complex investment workflows into production-grade systems in a flat, highly technical environment.

What You’ll Be Building:
  • Agent orchestration, MCP integrations and LLM-powered workflows
  • Full-stack applications across Python/FastAPI, React and financial data pipelines
  • Production-grade infrastructure, monitoring and observability for AI agents
  • CLI tools, MCP integrations and data orchestration systems
  • LLM-powered research and intelligence products
  • Automation for complex investment workflows
  • Reusable frontend components and internal tooling
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience building production backend systems and modern frontend applications, ideally with React
  • Experience owning and shipping products or systems end-to-end
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and product judgment
  • Experience with APIs, databases and data pipelines
  • Interest in LLMs, agents and modern AI tooling
Why Join:

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, software engineering and quantitative finance, where technology is the core product rather than a support function.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Build AI systems already being used in production
  • Work directly with hedge funds and asset managers
  • Own major pieces of product and infrastructure
  • Build new systems from first principles
  • Collaborate directly with users to shape and improve what you build
  • Work across backend, frontend, data and AI infrastructure
  • Take on broad responsibility within a small, highly technical team
Location: Midtown East, NYC
Compensation: Up to $250K base + equity
Visa: Open to most visa types, excluding net-new H-1B sponsorship
