Arcadia is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build an enterprise AI platform in an onsite Midtown NYC setting. You will own major product areas, design durable AI workflows, and work directly with customers to translate workflows into scalable software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with backend/platform/infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong CS fundamentals and technical foundation.
• Experience building backend systems like distributed pipelines, transactional systems, or workflow engines.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Rust; current environment is Python.
• Experience in high-growth/early-stage startup environments.
• Ability to scope ambiguous problems and make architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

Senior Software Engineer – AI / Enterprise Platform

Location: New York City – Midtown

Work Model: Onsite, 5 days/week

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $170K–$220K USD base + meaningful early-stage equity

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company building an intelligent automation platform for enterprise finance and accounting.

Rather than simply building AI copilots, the company is developing autonomous, audit-ready AI agents capable of executing complex financial workflows across ERP, banking, billing, payroll, CRM, and other enterprise systems.

Following significant early commercial traction, the company is rapidly expanding its engineering organization and looking for exceptional Senior Software Engineers to help build core products and infrastructure from the ground up.

This is a highly entrepreneurial engineering environment where engineers own complete product areas, work directly with customers, and have significant influence over product and technical direction.

What You’ll Do

• Own a major product or finance domain and take it from customer problem through architecture, development, and production.
• Build reliable AI agent workflows capable of executing complex, long-running business processes.
• Design backend systems for ingesting, normalizing, and reconciling data across ERPs, banks, billing platforms, CRMs, payroll systems, and other enterprise applications.
• Build verification, evaluation, observability, and guardrail systems that make AI-generated actions reliable and auditable.
• Develop durable workflow infrastructure capable of operating across stateful and occasionally unreliable third-party systems.
• Design safe, idempotent integrations that can write data back into critical systems of record.
• Work directly with finance professionals and customers to understand workflows and translate them into software.
• Contribute across the stack when necessary, including AI/LLM pipelines, infrastructure, backend services, integrations, and product UX.
• Work within small, highly autonomous engineering pods and help raise the technical bar across the organization.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, primarily focused on backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and an exceptional technical foundation.
• Experience building sophisticated backend systems such as distributed pipelines, transactional systems, workflow engines, integration platforms, or ledger-style systems.
• Strong programming ability in Python, Go, Java, Rust, or another modern backend language. The current environment is primarily Python.
• Experience working in a high-growth technology environment, ideally including an early-stage startup.
• Ability to independently scope ambiguous problems, make architectural decisions, and take products from concept through production.
• Strong product judgment and comfort working directly with customers and domain experts.
• Experience using modern AI development and coding tools to accelerate engineering workflows.
• A genuine ownership mentality — this environment is best suited to engineers who want responsibility rather than narrowly defined tickets.

You’ll stand out if you have experience with:

• Early-stage AI or enterprise software companies.
• High-growth technology, fintech, data infrastructure, or developer-platform companies.
• Fintech, payments, banking, ERP, accounting, treasury, audit, or compliance technology.
• Production AI agents or LLM-powered applications.
