Job summary

OPENLANE is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build scalable cloud-native APIs, modernize a greenfield system, and improve performance across the stack. You will work with frontend frameworks and AI-enhanced tooling to accelerate delivery and quality.

You will collaborate with product leaders and platform teams, owning components end-to-end with a focus on reliability and customer impact. A CS degree or equivalent experience is required, with 3+ years of relevant work.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software principles, OOP, data structures and algorithms.
• 3+ years of experience building and supporting production software systems.
• Design-first, code-later attitude.
• Proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript for Node.js runtime or browser environments.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST/JSON, and React.
• SQL Server, MySQL outside an ORM; Azure DevOps and pipelines.
• Strong Git experience: branching, merging, resolving conflicts, reverts, etc.
• Automated Testing (Unit, Integration) and familiarity with AI tooling.
• University degree or advanced diploma in software engineering or CS, or equivalent.

We are Looking For

We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience in building scalable, cloud-native APIs for a green field project. You will be involved in the design and development of a new system to replace our legacy system. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your experience in application development, front-end JavaScript frameworks, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in relevant areas.

Must Have's

Compensation Range of Annual Salary: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 USD (Depending on experience, skill set, qualifications, and other relevant factors.)
