Job Summary

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing‑intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real‑time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. The Engineer works individually or as part of a team, reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results, resolves software problem reports, and utilizes appropriate software development and design methodologies. The role includes input to system design regarding hardware/software trade‑offs, reuse, use of COTS/GOTS, and requirements analysis from system level to component level.

Basic Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus two years of software engineering experience. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may replace the bachelor’s degree.

Security & Citizenship

• An active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Software Engineer (SWE) Experience

• Analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debugging existing software and correcting defects.
• Providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
• Designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add new features.
• Integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or repositories.

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($77,000–$163,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards. Nightwing offers medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage in addition to a 401(k) plan, PTO, holidays, and additional insurances.
