Job summary

CIBC is seeking an Application Developer to join the Commercial Banking Technology and Payments area in Chicago. You will help develop, test and support cross-functional, multi-platform application systems as part of the bank’s digital transformation.

You will work with senior team members to broaden your technical skills across databases, cloud, ETL, and UI technologies while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive environment committed to trust, teamwork, and accountability.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications across databases, cloud, ETL, and UI layers.
• Experience with cross-functional, multi-platform application systems is expected.
• Ability to gather requirements and translate them into design specifications with senior peers.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Commercial Banking Technology and Payments area and be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, developing easy, flexible, and personalized banking solutions to enhance client experience and change the way that people bank. As an Application Developer, you’ll help develop, test and help with the implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Within a group of senior team members, you’ll broaden your technical skills and help create the bank of the future.

How You'll Succeed

• Programming skills - Develop code and test computer programs for straightforward assignments. Review, evaluate, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, and debugging.


• Systems implementation - Participate in the technical design, development, and integration of cross functional, multi-platform application systems.


• Planning and coordination - Interact with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, and technical resources to gather requirements and prepare design specifications as instructed by senior team members.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate 3-5 years experience in designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications with expertise in most of the following: Developing, implementing, and supporting applications with expertise across most of the following areas: Databases (Oracle, SQL Server), Cloud (Azure, AWS), ETL (Informatica, SSIS), Application Development (MVC, .NET, C#, JavaScript), SSRS, Advanced UI Development (preferably React), and Tools (Git, TFS, JIRA, Azure DevOps).

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 for the Chicago market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
