Job summary

CIBC is seeking a client-focused professional in Chicago, IL to deliver superior client service, support portfolio management with Private Bankers, and help drive business development. You will process transactions, maintain records, and collaborate across operations and technology to implement improvements.

The successful candidate will have 1–3 years in financial services, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, and a commitment to client outcomes and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for client service needs and deliver superior service by maintaining active account files, preparing reports and presentations, and responding to client inquiries with professionalism and care.
  • Partner with Private Bankers to support portfolio management and business development efforts.
  • Process client transactions accurately and efficiently, maintain documentation, and stay informed of policy changes.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, product, and technology teams to improve service and implement new solutions.
  • Participate in projects, contributing to service improvement and technology implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements by verifying documentation and reducing risk.

How You'll Succeed
  • Client engagement and support – Act as the primary contact for client service needs and deliver superior service by maintaining active account files, preparing reports and presentations, and responding to client inquiries with professionalism and care. Understand client needs and recommend solutions, ensuring every interaction demonstrates that CIBC listens and cares about our clients’ unique goals. Resolve complex issues as they arise through root cause analysis.
  • Relationship building – Partner with Private Bankers to support portfolio management and business development efforts. Engage in outreach activities, uncover new business opportunities, and ensure clients feel valued and connected to the right specialists and resources. Build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Leveraging technology – Accurately and efficiently process client transactions, maintain documentation for retention, and stay informed of policy and procedure changes. Utilize available technology to streamline tasks and enhance the client experience.
  • Collaboration – Work with operations, sales, product, and technology teams to improve service and implement new solutions.
  • Project involvement – Participate in projects, contributing to service improvement and technology implementation.
  • Risk and quality controls – Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements by verifying client documentation, protecting confidential information, and accurately completing service requests to reduce risk and avoid errors.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee’s needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
