Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on AI and data engineer to join the Finance team in Atlanta. You will design, build, and maintain AI-enabled infrastructure, integrate REST APIs and databases, and guide finance professionals in using AI for analysis and decision-making.

You will develop data acquisition pipelines, analyze data to uncover insights, and serve as a bridge between Finance and engineering. Expect to deliver impactful AI solutions within six months and scale new ideas within a year.

Job description

• Work embedded within the Finance team to identify opportunities and implement AI-powered solutions for complex business problems
• Guide and empower finance professionals to use AI tools and technologies for data analysis and decision-making
• Design, build, and maintain AI-enabling technical infrastructure, including custom tools, server-side logic, system integrations, and data pipelines
• Develop and manage data acquisition processes, including sourcing, cleaning, and preparing data for AI models and analytics
• Conduct data analysis to uncover insights, validate data integrity, and support strategic finance initiatives
• Act as the technical bridge between Finance and other engineering groups, translating business needs into robust technical solutions
• Improve team productivity by identifying and implementing AI solutions that automate or optimize Finance workflows
• Deliver impactful AI-powered solutions used by the Finance team within six months
• Identify and scale new AI solutions and contribute to engineering discussions about AI best practices within twelve months
• Report to the Director, Engineering on the Enterprise Systems and Data team

Requirements

• Experience working closely with business stakeholders, preferably within a finance or business operations context
• Proven experience designing and building solutions by integrating various systems, such as REST APIs and databases
• Strong comfort level managing associated data flows
• Strong programming skills for data acquisition, cleaning, and preparation
• Experience with data warehousing, such as BigQuery or Snowflake
• Solid understanding of data modeling
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the Atlanta office
• Must be able to attend the office one day per week
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must answer whether employment visa sponsorship will be required
